Pascal Cassecuelle was appointed as Country Division Head of the combined Crop Science division of Bayer and Monsanto in the Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova Country Group

Bucharest, March 2019 – Pascal Cassecuelle took over the leadership of the Crop Science Division of the combined companies for Bayer and Monsanto, coordinating operations for the Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova Country Group. Pascal Cassecuelle remains in his role of Senior Bayer Representative for Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.

"Planet earth has launched a dinner invitation for 1 billion people in 2050 and farmers are expected to put food on the world’s tables and increase production by 50% while at the same time dealing with the consequences of climate change, soil erosion or water scarcity. If you think 2050 is long term then please remember it is only 30 harvests away. The good news is that farmers are not alone to deal with this formidable challenge of producing more with less. This inspires us at Bayer Crop Science and this is what we mean when we articulate our purpose of “shaping the future of agriculture for farmers, consumers and the planet”, said Pascal Cassecuelle at the time of his appointment.

Innovation is the main reason for bringing these 2 great companies, Bayer and Monsanto, including the Dekalb brand and all its assets, together. We have created a company with unrivalled innovation capabilities, the best scientists and an R&D budget which is 50% higher than the next competitor*. By combining the best seeds, crop protection and digital farming platform we are convinced we will be better at developing customized solutions adapted to every farm and every field.

“I feel privileged to lead our new combined Cropscience organization for the country group Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova, where we hold the number one position and benefit from the strong development of Climate Corp for Digital farming and our Sinesti site for local seed production. I also want to mention the strong presence of Seminis in Vegetable seeds. My main priority for 2019 as the leader of the new combined organization is to make sure we design our team in the Crop Science division in a way that you will continue to see us as a trusted partner and expert”, added Pascal Cassecuelle.

Pascal Cassecuelle took the lead of Bayer Crop Science Division in February 2017, and from August 2017 he is Bayer’s SBR for the group of countries Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova. In Romania, Bayer has 300 employees and a turnover of approximately 280 million EUR.
